Unique Management Services, Inc. (UMS), Library Division,
has been involved in providing library material
recovery services since 1988.
UMS was formed to focus on recovery services
exclusively for libraries. Based on that understanding, we have formed
strategic partnerships with many of the library-automation vendors, including
SirsiDynix,
TLC/CARL,
Innovative Interfaces, Polaris, Infor, VTLS,
Liblime,
Talis, Civica,
and Axiell. We have worked with these and
other vendors to develop solutions that allow our clients to compile and
transmit account information automatically, with minimal day-to-day staff
involvement. We have developed and acquired technology to enable us to process
the data in an efficient, patron-friendly manner, allowing us to offer libraries
the best value in the business.
We specialize in meeting the particular needs
of libraries and recognize the unique relationship you have with your patrons. We have had tremendous success
recovering materials for libraries across the United States, Canada, Australia,
and the United Kingdom. UMS is
presently serving over 1,400 public libraries.
UMS provides a combination of written
communications and telephone calls that are specialized to provide a Gentle
Nudge® to encourage patrons to return materials to the library. Our careful use of leverage provided
by third party intervention, coupled with an awareness of patron sensitivity,
provides excellent results with no loss of patron goodwill.
